Onlays and Inlays
What is an Onlay or Inlay?
Inlays and onlays are strong pieces of material made outside of the mouth that we bond to the tooth to restore its
integrity.
What makes these procedures different than a filling?
A filling does exactly what its name implies; it fills a hole in the tooth with a composite material. Onlays and inlays
on the other hand are constructed by a milling machine and are placed and cemented onto the prepared tooth.
What are the benefits of inlays and onlays?
- Extremely durable
- Greater accuracy in its shape
