• Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide is commonly known as laughing gas. It was discovered in 1775 and has safely been used since then to help you as a patient relax, reduce pain, and even greatly reduce any anxiety you may feel towards the work we will be doing with you. One of the great benefits of Nitrous Oxide is its ability to act and where off quickly without side effects.

When you use the Laughing Gas we will connect a rubber hose to a breathing apparatus that covers your nose and allows you to breath in the gas. The gas has a slightly sweat pleasant odor and taste. Most patients describe their experience with the gas as being able to relax so much that they feel like they could easily fall asleep. Once again our goal is to help you completely relax so that you don't have any anxiety towards the work that we will do for you so everyone has a positive experience. • Sedation

Sedation is nothing new when it comes operations that physicians perform. In fact it is common place that when you have any sort of operation on your nose, ear, hands, feet, knees, hip etc. that your physician will sedate you. Most people feel some form of anxiety when they know their physician is performing work on them. It's completely normal, who wouldn't feel that way in the dental office environment with the noise of equipment and other patients. In fact why would you want be involved in such an operation without being sedated? So in the same way if we are going to be working on some of the most sensitive and personal part of your body, your teeth, then why shouldn't you be sedated.

Dr. Smith has been certified and licensed through the US Army and has efficiently and safely sedated patients for years. Most dentists in the area don't want to bother with the time it takes to become licensed and certified. Dr. Smith cares about you and your experience with us. Many patients enjoy listening to music or watching T.V. during their treatment. This is just a small part of what we do to help you feel comfortable during your visit with us. Our goal is to make you the most comfortable possible because the more comfortable we can help you feel during your visit, the more positive the experience for everyone.

Some of our patients have never really liked to stare up at the ceiling, and we don't blame them, so we have taken the liberty to install some new 17' flat screen TV's above your chair. So the next time you come in for a cleaning or any sort of work you can recline back, relax, and enjoy your favorite show, catch the latest on the news, or you can even bring your own DVD or pick from our selection of movies to watch. Not only that but when you visit us we will offer you a pair Bluetooth wireless headphones so that you don't have to listen to any of the background noise from us or other patients.
Music
If don't feel like watching TV or a movie and you still want to relax you can bring you favorite CD. In fact feel free to burn yourself a copy of all your favorites and we will set you up with a pair of Bluetooth wireless headphones so that you can sit back in the chair and relax without having to listen to any of the background noise from us or other patients.
