About Us
Dr. Douglas J. Smith
Dr. Smith Graduated from Washington University in 1971 and quickly started a residency in Oral Surgery.
With over 34 years of experience, Dr. Smith enjoys staying current with the latest technology and
procedures. He actively attends classes and conventions so he can learn the latest in dentistry to better
serve you. He received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2000, meaning that he
received 500 hours of classes and training recently in order to stay up to date and better serve you.
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Rexburg and has remained an active member of the community throughout
his life. He also served our country in the United States military for 48 years with for 4 1/2 years
active duty. During this service Dr. Smith volunteered in several humanitarian clinics in Germany, Alaska,
Panama, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.

Dr. Scott Wilkes
Dr. Wilkes received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. He
is proficient in all of the latest dental techniques and technology. We are thrilled to have Dr. Wilkes
for several reasons. One of which is that he loves to work with children of all ages especially because
he has worked extensively with them while at the Small Smiles Children's Clinic in Boise and also while
volunteering at several inner city clinics throughout Virginia. He is native of Rexburg and is happy to be
back in Rexburg and delighted to be part of the team.

Jason Merrill - Dental Hygienist

Jason has over 10 years experience here at the Dental Health Center. He graduated with a bachelor�s
degree of science from Idaho State University in 1996, specializing in dental hygiene. Jason is an
Eastern Idaho native, married and has 3 children.

Susan Davidson - Dental Assistant
|
Susan has worked for Dr. Smith for 26 years. Susan attended Ricks College in 1976 and she
certified in dental Assisting through EITC. She grew up Idaho Falls and moved to Rexburg from
American Falls in 1981. Susan loves the outdoors and enjoys waterskiing and snowmobiling.

Chris Erickson - Dental Assistant

Chris was born in Rexburg Idaho and graduated from Orem High School in Utah and then attended
BYU-Provo before moving back to St. Anthony Idaho. She has now worked for the Dental Health
Center for over 19 years and received her certification for Dental Assisting from EITC in 1989.
She loves our patients and all the people she works with. She also has 9 beautiful grandchildren.

Peggy Richman - Dental Assistant

Peggy was born in Rexburg and graduated from South Fremont in 1978. She then received her
certificate in Dental Assisting in 1997 and then started working here at the Dental Health Center.
She is married and has two children and one grandchild with another on the way. She enjoys her
job and especially the opportunity to work with all the patients.

Jessica Baler - Dental Assistant

Jessica was born in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont. She then received her
certificate in Dental Assisting in 2000 from EITC and came to work with us. She has worked at
the Dental Health Center now for over 8 years. She was married in 2001 and now has 2 children,
one of which is a brand new baby boy.

Summer Robles - Dental Assistant

Summer was born in Provo Utah and moved to St. Anthony when she was 5 years old. She graduated
from South Fremont and then moved on to the EITC where she received her certificate in Dental
Assisting in 2003. She has worked at the Dental Health Center for 4 years. She married her high
school sweetheart in September of 2003 and now had has one little girl and another child on the
way.

Krystal Pace - Dental Assistant

Krystal was born in Mesa Arizona and moved to Rexburg when she was 12. She graduated from Madison
High and went to Boise State where she received her certificate in dental assisting in 2007. Krystal is working towards
entering Dental Hygiene school in the future.

Julie Ann - Dental Assistant
Karie Jones - Office Manager

Karie has worked at the Dental Health Center for over 14 years and has managed our office
efficiently during this time. She specializes as our account manager, insurance coordinator,
and for any billing needs. Karie has 6 children and four grandchildren that she loves to spoil.

Dana Smith - Secretary
|
If you have ever called the Dental Health Center than you probably has talked to Dana our office
secretary. She is efficient at managing our appointments and makes things run smooth around the
office. Dana graduated from Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa in 2006 with a degree in
Political Science. Dana and her husband are new to Rexburg and he husband is preparing to enter
medical school soon.
